Disasters of New Wars, or Massacre — some of many

“Far from a future of technology and robotics, this series is part of an exploration of our war-like nature. What is left of humans when we are stripped of technology and possessions, and food is scarce? What do we become? Basically, this series is a result of reading Cormac McCarthy’s post-apocalyptic book The Road and his earlier violent epic Blood Meridian back to back.”

In addition to the McCarthy works, the artist also cites the following as artistic references for Disasters of New Wars, or Massacre — some of many: Disasters of War, a suite of 85 aquatint prints by Francisco de Goya (circa 1810), The Postman, film Kevin Costner.
